Resident Evil 2 Remake Chess Puzzle
The first of the three chess piece plugs you’ll actually come across is the Rook. As you’re exploring the Sewers to begin with, you’ll actually come across it right next to a bridge. Removing the Rook plug from the socket it’s in when you find it will cause the bridge to lower, preventing you from crossing it.Don’t worry about this for now, you’ll need to leave it behind and come back for it later in Resident Evil 2.Eventually, you’ll find yourself getting into the nearby Work Room via an elevator shortcut which is locked from the door by the Rook plug. Once you’re inside the Work Room, unlock the door, grab the Rook chess piece plug, and head back through the Work Room to avoid that pesky bridge. King and Queen Plug Locations in Resident Evil 2Both the King and Queen chess piece plugs can be found in the same room in Resident Evil 2.From the Save Room with the plug sockets and the door you’re trying to get through, head through the unlocked door directly opposite of the typewriter. Pull the level to activate the bridge, head across the bridge, turn right, and head through the door that has the ‘Exit’ sign above.Once here, go down the stairs to the central area where there are a few zombies waiting for you, head left, and down the stairs towards a door that requires you to use the T-Bar handle.
Head through here, and then take the bridge to your left over to the other side. You’ll see a table with a key locker just above it. Grab the key from here and then drop down the ladder behind you. You’ll now be wading through water. Simply follow the path that winds round, making sure to avoid the weird sewer monster things in Resident Evil 2 as best you can. You’re aiming for the door with the red light above it in the distance.Once here, open the door. You’ll now be inside the Supplies Storage Room. Now you’re inside, follow the path around and down the stairs. This room is a little puzzle escape room that involves you using the King and Queen plugs in different sockets to escape.Once you head through the first gateway, look to your left to find the Queen Plug as shown in the image below.
Head right and then turn left and come back on yourself to find another Queen Plug socket for you to use the chess piece on. Head through the now open gate, and turn right and back on yourself again to climb the stairs. Watch out for the zombie hanging over the side of the railings, it’ll try eat you if you don’t put it down first. At the top of the stairs is another socket, this time with the King chess piece plug in it that you need to advance in Resident Evil 2.
Grab it, then drop down the gap in the fence here to return to the bottom floor section.Head back through the gate that the Queen chess piece plug is currently keeping open, and use the King plug on the socket to your left, rather than going up the stairs. Nab the Flamethrower if you’re playing as Leon, or Spark Shot if you’re playing as Claire from the wall on the right, before unlatching the door to your left. Don’t head through here, though. Instead, go out the way you came and grab the King plug, then head back towards the Queen plug and remove that, too.Turn right and right again, back towards the entrance to this room, and use the Queen plug on the socket.
Then, turn left, and use the King plug on the socket directly ahead of the main stairs.Go back through the gate you just opened with the Queen plug, remove it, and then head straight on and come back through the gate you just opened with the King plug. You should now be able to remove it, and exit this room with both chess piece plugs in your inventory. With the Rook, Queen, and King chess piece plugs in hand, you’re all set to get through that pesky door and save Ada.That’s all you need to know for how to get all chess piece plugs in Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil 2 Remake Chess Puzzle 2nd Run
Similar to a Metroidvania-style game, playing Resident Evil 2 is a gradual process of unlocking the environment around you, as new items and keys grant you access to areas where you can win entry to other locked areas you've previously encountered. Most of the combos you'll need to unlock safes, combination locks and lockers you'll find during the normal course of play.
They're typically hidden in letters or in film canisters. There's a solution to every safe, and often that solution is right under your nose. But if you're trying to push through Leon or Claire's campaign as quickly as you can, or if you're playing RE2 exclusively for the zombie-killing action, then we've got the combos that'll get you gear fast. Or, maybe you're just looking to find the combination to that one pesky locker you never unlocked the first time around. Unlocking Safes, Lockers and Combination Locks in Resident Evil 2.
