Window Stuck Under Taskbar Windows 10
So I've been using the Windows 7 Taskbar on the top of the screen, instead of the bottom. Overall, I love it in that place except that when I open some applications, the top of the window will align itself with the very top of the screen (instead of the bottom of the taskbar). Thus, the Window controls are blocked by the taskbar.
If I resize the window, then it will snap below the task bar (the behavior I want when I first open/launch the window). Is this a bug? Is there a way to change a setting somewhere? Hi, I would like to know if all the applications encounter the issue. Take Notepad for example, will it be covered by deskbar when maximam? In my PC, it max to the botton of the taskbar properly, so I don't think it is a bug.
In addition, you can workaround the issue by checking 'auto-hide the taskbar' box from Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. At this point, I suggest test the issue by creating a new account. If the issue disappears in new account, then the corresponding registry of taskbar may have been corrupted. If the issue persists in the new account, I would suspect if your display card driver is fully compatible with Windows 7.
Tell us the model of your PC and display card? In case certain third party software running back ground has conflict with the desktop settings, you can test the issue in clean boot to troubleshoot. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service, refer to 1. Click the Start Button and type 'msconfig' (without quotation marks) in the Search Box and press Enter. Click Continue to verify the permission. Select the Services tab in the open window.
Check the “Hide all Microsoft Services” option and click Disable All. Switch to the Startup tab and click Disable All. Click OK to save the settings and select Restart when prompted. Check whether or not the issue still occurs.Note: Temporarily disabling the Startup Group only prevents the startup programs from loading at startup.
This shouldn't adversely affect the system or other programs. We can still manually run these programs later. I don't experience this with all applicaitons. Only certains ones. In particular, Windows Media Player gives me this problem.
When I double click a video to view, the player launches (not in maxamized mode) with the media players window aligned to the very, very top of the screen. Thus I can't even access the contols of the media player to close it. As I indicated, if I resize the media player (from right, left or bottom), it automatically re-aligns below the task-bar. This problem is really only experienced when an application is launched (not all applications, just some). If the application is opened and I maximize it, it will maximize only to the task bar (not underneath it). I've tried this on various computers (with different accounts) and all exhibit the same problem. This seems to be a bug.
I'm guessing the application at launch is asking to start at the top of the screen, ie: X = 400, Y = 0 (I hope x is the width and y is the height). But Windows is does not remove the taskbar area from the display. I'm guessing the other applications that don't have this problem are written with a different starting position. I find that the taskbar is more productive when it's at the top. I want the people I support that are moving to Windows 7 to make this adjustment too.
But I can't hide the taskbar from them (thus no auto-hide) as this will confuse them more and I can't have them stuck where if they open a video file that they aren't able to close it. That would give Windows 7 to them a bad impression. Just like to say, it's not just you. I've had this same problem and other users have also.
It's been this way with every release of windows, but before they had an option to keep taskbar on top, now with that gone there isn't really anything you can do. I would suggest looking into a docking station program as they can virtually replace the windows taskbar and are fully customizable. They have trials for stardock and nexus dock. Good luck with this, I don't think there is a fix for it but maybe we'll get lucky and they'll send out an update for it.

I don’t like these dark bright colors. I would prefer and it would be easier to read if it was like it was awhile back with the lighter pastel shades. This pink is too hot pink. I would prefer a baby pink. But I don’t see that color on these selections here. When you are blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other (LOL) the colors, fonts and such really make a difference. And, especially for people like me who have had eye surgery for cataracts.
Please get the softer lighter pastel shades back.Arda says. I have to say this new Windows 10 look is a disaster.

Window Extends Below Taskbar
I mean, it was so neat in Windows 7. And so it was in Windows 8. But this is one is a total failure. The fact, that you cannot customize this look and you are limited to a certain amount of colors that any way you can’t brighten up I mean, the taskbar is always dark. But nothing can be done to make it pretty light metallish, for example. Not, it’s dark and it has these primitive looking icons in white.
